How to display actual email address in "To:" field for inbound emails
We are running Exchange 2003 Standard (latest SP) on a server with MS Server 2003 (latest SP). I had moved the Exchange Server to a new physical box/server several months ago. Prior to the move, the "To:" filed on all emails listed the actual email address it was being sent to (we use Office Outlook 2003). Since moving to the new setup, Exchange/Outlook only lists the Active Directory's "name" in the "To:" field for all inbound emails. We have one "customer service" account set up with dozens of email addresses associated with it -- to allow multiple staff members to have access to the emails for processing. Without being able to see the actual address the email was sent to, it is taking them a lot longer to determine how to respond to the email. I need to get this fixed ASAP. What did I miss in the migration? Thanks, Frank

Hi, Whether the Exchange 2000 server was running before move to the new physical server? Please try to set the value as 0 based on the below KB:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/288635 Then make the “Resolve Anonymous Senders” option is checked on the SMTP virtual server. After that, please restart SMTP and check this issue. Allen

Allen, Thanks, this fixed the problem. I'm not sure if we had Exchange 2000 installed before moving to Exchange 2003 -- that was before my time. I moved Exchange 2003 from one physical box to another in order to separate our SMTP services from the "file and print" services. I noticed the old server had the "ResolveP2" registry entries set up, so I created both "1" and "2" keys -- not knowing if I only needed one or both. I also checked the "Resolve Anonymous Senders" option, which is confusing. I would have assumed it had the opposite meaning as I did not want the names resolved. My Customer Service department's staff are happy with me once again... for now... Thanks, Frank
